Vicky

A South Florida native, Vicky has actively performing since the age of 10. Starting off with piano/voice and joining band as a clarinetist from middle school through high school. In her teens, she took up the alto saxophone and was introduced to the oboe.

Deciding to become a music educator, she earned an Associates degree in music education from Miami Dade college and chose the Oboe/English horn as her primary instrument. She went on to study with Amy Collins and earn a Bachelors in music performance at the University of South Florida. Finding a passion for teaching through her time as an undergrad, she went on to earn a teaching assistantship at Southeastern Louisiana University where she earned a Masters in music performance under Dr. Everette Scott Smith and served several roles in the music department. These roles included being the assistant for the Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble and leading reed classes and oboe studio as well as teaching a college course in beginner music theory and aural skills.

Vicky has performed in chamber groups and large ensembles such as orchestra, band, woodwind quintet and singing in a band. Today she performs with the Indian River pops orchestra in Stuart,Florida.


Vicky actively teaches at Key to Music offering lessons for piano, voice, ukulele, double reeds, clarinet and saxophone.
